Aircraft Selection and Procurement

Owning your own helicopter or aeroplane offers unrivalled levels of prestige and flexibility. The possibility of travelling where you want when you want, bypassing the inconvenient delays associated with scheduled flying, offers the opportunity to achieve a real competitive advantage.

Alternatively, you may just be attracted by a desire to own the ultimate status symbol! Whatever your motivation, buying a new aircraft is a big step with many potential pitfalls and hidden costs. Put simply you can't afford to get it wrong.

At Rose Aviation we have the expertise, knowledge, and experience to make sure that you get it right. We'll make sure that you get the right aircraft at the right price and that it is put into your service as soon as feasibly possible.

Rose Aviation's six-step process to aircraft ownership can be summarised as follows:

Step 1:
Perform a cost-benefit analysis before you spring for a private jet or helicopter. Our suggestion is that 250 hours of flight time per year usually justifies full ownership of an aircraft. Otherwise, we can guide you to consider alternatives including fractional ownership, charter, or even leasing your own helicopter and amortising the overall costs. That said, the thrill of ownership is often reason enough to consider purchasing a helicopter of private jet and we can steer you in the right direction to ensure that your desires are realised.

Step 2:
Consider the hidden extras. Along with a price tag that ranges from? €1 to €10 million for a new helicopters or €2 - €50million for a new private jet, factor in necessities such as insurance, fuel, catering, maintenance and pilots--who are in short supply. We can offer a package to account for all of these services and can guide you through all of the available options and dismiss naive solutions.

Step 3:
Determine the size and flying range you'll need.
Light jets (€2 million to 8 million) can take 5 to 8 passengers roughly 2,000 miles (3,219 km); mid size executive jets (€9 to €16 million) can take up to 9 passengers from 2,000 to 3,000 miles (3,219 to 4,828 km); and large executive jets (€17 to €45 million) can carry 12 passengers more than 4,000 miles (6,437 km).

The more popular makers and models are:
Learjet, Boeing Business Jet, Cessna, Gulfstream and Dassault Falcon.

For helicopters, smaller single engine turbine helicopters with a 5 seat capacity can range from €1.5 million up to €10 for larger twin engine helicopters with seating capacity for 15 passengers. The more popular helicopter manufacturers include, Agusta Westland, Eurocopter, Sikorsky, and Bell.

Rose Aviation has extensive knowledge of the market and contacts with all major manufacturers. We can guide you through the selection process to tailor a solution that best meets your needs.

Step 4:
When you're ready to buy, we can assist you with going to the market by preparing tenders and contracts. Ultimately, we will ensure that we get you the best price and overall package for what you need.

Step 5:
Given the outlay for a private helicopter or jet, it is frequently recommended that independent experts oversee the production and delivery of the aircraft. Rose Aviation have qualified Aeronautical Engineers and Pilots who can oversee aircraft production and delivery, including test flights and delivery inspections; ensuring the highest level of quality assurance in the delivered product and that the manufacturer meets their contractual obligations.

Step 6:
Now that you own your helicopter or jet we can put in place a comprehensive management package including; pilots, maintenance, financial management, regulatory compliance, or even arranging for the lease of you aircraft when you are not using it to offset your costs.
